Let’s get outdoors!
Participants from federal agencies, nonprofit organizations and the recreation industry are again teaming up to host the 10th annual National Get Outdoors Day to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun at sites across the nation.
Join us on Saturday, June 10th 2017 to strive to be more active in Pennsylvania’s parks, forests, and other public lands/waters. Below are some National Get Outdoors Day events that are happening across the commonwealth.
National Get Outdoors Day PA Events:
National Get Outdoors Day Hike: Two States, Two Canals & One River
On “National Get Outdoors Day”, the naturalists from the Delaware Canal State Park (PA) and Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park (NJ) are joining forces to give a 7.3 mile loop hike along both the Delaware Canal State Park towpath and the Delaware & Raritan Canal towpath. We will be rewarded along the way with beautiful views of the Delaware River, both canals & two unique bridges. There is a very good possibility that we will observe bald eagles or other raptors & waterfowl on this hike! Click the link above to RSVP.
